I'm Mashaal —
a communications strategist working at the intersection of food systems & climate.
My focus is cutting through the noise - making the case for investing in change that builds more just and sustainable food systems, and rallying people to act on it.
I do this through impactful storytelling grounded in real expertise. My background in agricultural economics gives me a deep understanding of the context and complexity behind food and climate challenges. That foundation shapes how I communicate - not just to inform, but to help people see where they fit in the solution.
I've brought this approach across journalism, international development at the United Nations, and documentary filmmaking.
What I do
⁕ My Foundation
Food Systems & Policy
I studied Agricultural Economics with a specialization in Environmental Economics because I wanted to understand how food systems actually work — the structures, the trade-offs, the people left out. My education and hands-on experience in rural agricultural development at IFAD made me good at exactly this:
- Food systems & agricultural economics
- Climate & food security policy
- Rural development & international aid
- Social inclusion & equity
- Monitoring, evaluation & learning
- Qualitative & field research
My skills in communications, storytelling, and design grew from a single question: how do you make this matter to the people who need to act on it?
